The Court leaving all its matters aside had to attend the copyright case to stop the screening of the movie “PHILLAURI”. It was at the eleventh hour i.e. three days before the release date of the movie that the Plaintiff asked for the last minute injunction from the Court. The Justice presiding over the Court was furious at the Counsel and decided to give the verdict after 5 p.m. in the evening. But the counsel was bent on to have the injunction granted by the Judge at any cost. The judge after hearing the rest of the matters handed over the verdict overnight, wherein the Plaintiff was ordered to pay Rs. Five lakhs for such actions.
The Court did not issue any deadline for the defendants to file Affidavit in reply and the defendants were allowed to take as long as they want to file the reply. It has become another case of hurried decision and the case is awaiting a larger interest to come along.
